DISCOVER THE QUINTESSENTIAL COTSWOLD
HOSPITALITY OF JONES & CAMPBELL

If the Cotswolds are quintessential England, then Jones & Campbell are the quintessence of English hospitality. If Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy and Laurie Lee wanted to hold a soiree at Downtown Abbey then Jones & Campbell would be their go-to organisers. Life simply doesn’t get any better than a country house party planned by Angharad Jones and Joe Campbell.

A QUINTESSENTIALLY HISTORIC
COTSWOLD ITINERARY

Hospitality aside you’ve come here to see pockets of England few get the chance to experience. We can often arrange to enjoy a cream tea during the season’s match days at the Polo Club where Princes William and Harry play their favourite game. We’ll show you medieval wool towns and villages, little changed since time immemorial. We’ll introduce you to a Roman Legacy that started in 55BCE when Julius Caesar crossed the channel from France. You’ll discover Saxon history, ancient churches and their market towns. It’s a hugely historic and cultural area.

THE MODERN-DAY
GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCE

Superb food and wine are the centre point of Jones & Campbell hospitality. We provide a private chef who will not only create the most fabulous menus and meals but welcome you into the kitchen to talk about ingredients and tricks of the trade – and you’re perfectly welcome to roll up your sleeves and get involved with a bit of ‘sous-cheffing’. We’ll then pair chef’s dishes with what we consider to be the most appropriate fine wines from around the world, taken from the Jones & Campbell cellar.

Obviously, if you have any particular dietary requirements, or want a special celebration meal prepared, simply let us know in advance and chef can discuss menus with you.

Everything included
in the price you pay

From the moment you are collected everything is included in the price you pay. This covers accommodation in luxurious country house surroundings, all meals, wines, cocktails, champagne, etc. The itinerary of excursions to local places of interest is also included – although if you’d rather sit in a lovely English garden, we’ll happily come around on a regular basis to top up your glass!

your fully catered gourmet
country house cotswold home from home

We base our business in the Cotswolds for one reason – we think it’s quite simply super-stunning. The scenery is beautiful, and Cotswold stone country houses blend perfectly into the environment. We specialise in finding properties to suit a range of budgets and a range of party size. That said the Jones & Campbell elite gourmet escape experience is wholly portable – if it’s easier for you to visit a different part of the UK, including Wales or Scotland, just give us time and we’ll suggest a range of possible locations.

Golden Valley
Edge

The Golden Valley is a wonderful part of Cotswolds, around the village of Chalford, along the banks of the River Frome – it’s designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. There’s a whole heap of history here dating back to 17th and 18th century Huguenot weavers who found a home here to manufacture silk and woollen cloth. The village is mostly stone built cottages and our manor house here has imposing views down the valley.

Tucked away off the back road past the racecourse into the old spa town of Cheltenham 9 miles in the distance, Kenelm House is our biggest property. If you want to get close to nature the property has 27 acres of private woodlands to walk through, and historic Sudeley Castle & gardens, the origin of which dates back before the Norman Conquest, is nearby.

Barksdale
Manor

Words don’t really do Barksdale Manor justice – it’s an absolutely fabulous house set in truly wonderful gardens just off the old Roman ‘Fosse Way’ that links Exeter to Lincoln, between Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-the-Marsh, possibly the two most hyphenated towns in England! It’s spectacularly presented, and every room is immaculately appointed. We’ve looked at a wide range of houses in the area and we honestly don’t think luxury gets better than this.

How to
Book

Your custom is important to us and we run a personal service, so we don’t book online – we want you to talk to us. Our clients like it better this way – most have some bespoke element to their booking and we really want to tailor your elite gourmet escape to you.

That could involve people arriving in different places at different times, different dietary requirements or allergies, sleeping arrangements or the wish to see something specific in the local area – this is your private escape and we’re here for you.
