The excitement and enchantment of a week-long holiday at The Manor began the moment Joe greeted us in London and started our drive into The Cotswold. The beauty of the area unfolded with each mile and Joe built upon the momentum as he described what to expect the week ahead. As our van arrived at the front entrance of The Manor we knew our experience would exceed our expectations. The staff members immediately felt like our new best friends and the arrival libation and canapes were sensational. Having spent a week with Joe & Ang on the Belmond Alouette, it was difficult to imagine how any travel experience could eclipse that voyage. Jones & Campbell exceeded every expectation with fabulous dining with gorgeous presentations, daily itineraries that were imaginative, entertaining and educational throughout spectacular views of the beautiful English countryside; and engagement with a staff that builds a lifetime friendship. Our favorite experience was our final day with a staff/guest croquet tournament on the lovely grounds of The Manor, of course accompanied with fine champagne and canapes.
This is a travel experience not to be missed. We will return to another Jones & Campbell adventure soon.
It is so hard to describe the Jones & Campbell vacation and do it justice. We had the pleasure of cruising on the Aloette barge in southern France with Ang as our hostess and Joe as our captain. This second excursion with them was at The Manor, an idyllic 16th century stone home, in the historic Cotswolds.
Every detail is meticulously arranged to create a relaxing, active, interesting, enjoyable experience. The itinerary is designed to enable you to do as much or as little as you wish. You are immersed in an English country setting with private tours, fine dining, and beautiful accommodations that are exclusive and luxurious. Your activities have been personally selected with venue specific guides and special access. We attended a polo match on Wednesday, Princes William and Harry played at the same polo club on Saturday. The tours, Bath, Sudeley Castle, Cirencester, the Woolen Weavers and Bibury’s Arlington Row are even more interesting than they appear on the website.
We so enjoyed a competitive round of croquet on the lawn…I need a rematch! As the British say, Ang and Joe did not “put a foot wrong.”
The dictionary defines hospitality as “the quality or disposition of receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly, generous way.” You both meet and surpass the definition. After spending one week as your guests I can say for certain that you two are the epitome of good hosts. From your warm welcome to your anticipation of our every need and wish, we felt that we were in the presence of wonderful people. Your style, finesse and warmth made our week together one that I will forever cherish. My husband and I have traveled extensively and consider you as two of the most professional hosts we have ever met. I wish you the very best in your new endeavor and have no doubt it will be a great success.
After traveling with Joe and Ang as our captain and hostess on a barge through the Midi Canal, we were excited to visit them in their new establishment in the Cotswolds. We were not
Imagine having an English manor house among the lush rolling hills of the Cotswolds. Meals tailor-made by your personal chef. A friendly and attentive staff, and a driver to whisk you to guided outings in stone-walled villages and historic Bath. Champagne and polo at the famed Cirencester Polo Club. through the countryside with the dog of the manor.
We couldn’t have felt more at home as we settled in to enjoy our afternoon tea or pre-dinner libation, or shared the spacious kitchen with the chef during preparation of lunch or dinner.
Home, but better, with Jones and Campbell.
Our family had one of the most delightful week’s in the Cotswolds at the Manor House with Jones and Campbell. A fantastic chef prepared gourmet meals every day & evening, our hostess provided impeccable service and served exquisite wines to compliment the meals. We took several trips during the day which gave us a taste of the country life. Sudeley Castle and Gardens to many small villages such as Burford, Cirencester, and Bath and a wonderful day viewing a polo match—these are just a few of the many relaxing and enjoyable days we spent at the Manor House. An unforgettable trip.
It’s nearly impossible to describe the joys of travel with Ang and Joe. They are both so talented, charming, knowledgeable, and funny. This darling couple provides elegance, luxury, and a down-to-earth travel experience individually tailored to the traveler’s request. Truly unforgettable!!
